This large-scale model of the Mercedes-Benz SSK was built around 1995 by an enthusiastic grandfather for his grandchildren. The aim was not to build a precise reproduction of the SSK but a personalized toy on based of the famous SSK. The model does not have the construction finish of a high-tech model, but it does have enormous appeal.

The model was built to receive an electric motor; however, the motor was never installed. Of particular interest, is the reproduction compressor engine made entirely of wood. The headlights work and the instruments on the dash were rescued from local junkyards. Rear brakes can be activated with a foot pedal and handbrake. Unlike most pedal cars, this floor is closed and carpeted. This SSK has lao been exhibited several times by its original builder.
