Ferrari launched the 328 GTB and GTS along with a renewed Mondial at the 1985 Frankfurt Auto Show. Both models shared a derivative of the Dino engine that had powered numerous Ferraris since the 1950s, albeit in V-8 form and with a 3.2-litre capacity. With a retail price beginning at around €55,000, the 328 (and its Mondial sister model) expanded the Italian automaker’s mid-1980s product line-up beyond the much lauded and more expensive 288 GTO, 400 series, and Testarossa.

The lovely example offered here from the penultimate year of 328 production was delivered to its first owner through Ferrari dealer Symbol Car SpA in Turin on 1 April 1988. Acquired by the current owner in December 2022, it has been exceedingly well maintained as part of a notable collection. In July 2023, it benefitted from an engine-out mechanical refurbishment by Garage Millancourt in Tournon, France. Invoices for this and other work totalling €26,465 are included in the sale, along with factory manuals, and the car’s original, stamped warranty book. Finished in the quintessential Ferrari colour scheme of Rosso Corsa over Nero leather and showing only 56,537 kilometres on the odometer at the time of cataloguing, this well-preserved and lovingly maintained 328 GTS will prove a tempting proposition to many.
