Ferrari’s 599 GTB Fiorano was introduced as the successor to the 575M Maranello at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2006. While the 575M was largely based on the 550 Maranello, the 599 GTB would be an all-new car throughout. It boasted bodywork designed by Pininfarina, which sought to improve the car’s aerodynamics and was defined by rear buttresses that helped channel air to the rear deck and increase downforce. Mechanically, the car’s engine retained the same basic architecture of the V-12 in the Enzo and produced 611 horsepower, which was a 71-horsepower increase over the engine in the 575M Maranello. The motor was mated to a new F1-SuperFast gearbox that could shift in just 60 milliseconds, helping to propel the 599 from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed in excess of 330 km/h.
This 599 GTB Fiorano was built in November 2009, finished in the Extra Campionario (roughly translated to “Extra Sample”, or special order) pairing of Avorio—a 1950s and 1960s anniversary paint colour—over an Iroko interior with special stitching. It left the factory further equipped with Giallo Modena brake callipers, Scuderia wing shields, tinted rear windows, and 20-inch Ferrari Challenge-style five-bolt wheels painted by the factory in Nero Opaco. The interior gained electric Daytona-style seats in full leather and coloured safety belts that match the hide. Carbon fibre trim pieces include the centre console bezel and F1 control panel, the driver zone (dashboard cluster, upper steering wheel, and shift paddles), plus the door panels and sill plates. Additionally, several Extra Campionario features outfit the cabin: the upholstery colour, carpets, leather steering wheel, in addition to the Alcantara adorning the front and rear pillars, headliner, rear shelf, plus passenger and luggage compartment mats.
The car was sold new on 29 April 2010 through Al Tayer Motors LLC, the official importer and dealer for Ferrari in the United Arab Emirates. The 599 GTB is accompanied by owner’s manuals with Ferrari leather pouch neatly belted into its spot in the boot next to a covered spare wheel.
Discerning buyers continue to prioritise uniquely specified examples, and this Ferrari is one such car. The 599 remains celebrated as one of the ultimate front-engined naturally aspirated grand tourers, combining timeless Pininfarina styling with an interior tailored for effortless continental driving. Featuring a striking, retro-inspired colour combination, this example promises to captivate visually while delivering the glorious symphony that only a Ferrari V-12 can provide.
