Confirmed as the final 7-Litri Series I Iso Grifo constructed, chassis 326 was completed 9 September 1970 finished in the striking livery of black with a silver roof over beige leather trim and fitted with optional air conditioning, Series II Elektron wheels, ZF five-speed gearbox, and 2.88:1 gearing. Sold new in Italy, the car was exported to Sweden in the mid-1970s after being acquired by marque aficionado Gosta Andren. While under Andren’s stewardship, the 7-Litri was reportedly featured in a 1986 issue of Automobil and later underwent a sympathetic restoration with the expressed intent of maintaining the car’s original charm. Great care was taken in refining its mechanical components before 326 was refinished in the factory color of Grigio Reims Metallizzato. After several years on the display circuit, the car was imported to America in 2014 and acquired by its current owner in 2018.

The consignor immediately commissioned what would become a multi-year restoration to factory specifications by Classic Performance Restorations of Gilbert, Arizona. Scores of invoices totaling nearly $200,000 outline the exhaustive process, which included a new wiring harness from Iso Rivolta Deutschland, a custom-fabricated, ceramic-coated exhaust system, rebuilding the carburetor, vapor-honing the intake manifold, and extensive engine tuning.

After sorting the mechanical components, an all-new deep blue leather interior was fitted along with a fresh walnut dash and rebuilt air-conditioning system. In 2023, the Iso Grifo participated in the thrilling Copperstate 1000 rally across Arizona’s Sonoran Desert, completing the four-day event without issue. Further underscoring the car’s treasured life, it has been confirmed to retain its numbers-matching 7-liter Chevrolet V-8 engine. A copy of its original build sheet, decades of service invoices, former owners’ correspondence, and photographs of Andren’s restoration accompany the sale.

Comprehensively sorted and primed for its next rally, this Iso Grifo 7-Litri five-speed awaits a discerning enthusiast seeking the finest blend of American muscle and Italian design.
