Young people today are facing unprecedented challenges to their mental health, confidence and sense of belonging. Opportunities to learn through outdoor activity, teamwork and physical challenge, once a natural part of growing up, are becoming increasingly rare. At UK Youth we know how powerful these experiences are and we are determined to change that.

The new Experiential Learning and Sports Centre will transform what’s possible at Avon Tyrrell. It will provide a year-round, fully accessible indoor space where young people can:

Build confidence and physical literacy

Develop teamwork, leadership and resilience

Learn through challenge, movement and shared experience - whatever the weather

This centre will ensure that life-changing opportunities are available to young people throughout the year, not just in fair conditions, and to those who may never otherwise access sport or outdoor learning.

UK Youth President and motorsport legend Nigel Mansell is proudly supporting this appeal. He has made a significant personal donation and has committed to raising a minimum of £1 million through his networks to help make the centre a reality.
