The 993-generation 911 marked the end of the air-cooled chapter for Porsche, a story that began with the 356 in 1948. It was also the last hand-built 911, and the flagship Turbo model garnered rave reviews for how it radically evolved over the preceding, often spikey-natured type-964. Doubling the number of turbochargers to improve response times and adding four-wheel drive meant that, with quick shifts up the six-speed transmission, the 408 horsepower offered by the 3.6-litre flat-six was sufficient for a 4.5-second sprint to 100 km/h.

One of just 935 examples configured for the country code “C00” in 1996, this car was delivered new in its home nation of Germany. Completed by the Stuttgart factory in July, it was smartly specified with Polar Silver Metallic paintwork over a Black leather upholstery.

As recorded by the sticker still found on the underside of the bonnet and further supported by build information that is available to view on file, this car was treated to a generous selection of optional extras. The instrument cluster and door panel inserts were finished in carbon fibre, as were the gear lever and handbrake; the Comfort-specification front seats offer both heating and lumbar support, while the Digital Sound Package was added alongside cruise control, an electric sunroof, extended-range 92-litre fuel tank, and metal door sill plates.

Accompanied by a tool roll and showing 133,602 kilometres on the odometer at the time of cataloguing, this desirable 993-generation, last of the air-cooled 911 Turbos retains its factory colour combination and is sure to attract enthusiasts of Zuffenhausen’s finest.
