The AMG SLS coupe has been designed and presented in the spirit of – and in tribute to – the iconic 300 SL ‘Gullwing’ coupes of the mid-1950s. It is the culmination of sports car, race car, and automotive art presented in an exotic shape with the aluminum bodywork tautly formed over an aluminum spaceframe. It represents the first Mercedes-Benz automobile to be designed in-house by AMG.

At its core is a handcrafted 6.3-liter, four-valve-per-cylinder V-8 that produces 563 hp. It can accelerate from 0–60 mph in 3.7 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 197 miles per hour. With dry sump lubrication and race-tuned velocity stacks, the engine was one of the highest output V-8s available at the time. Imposing power is turned into impressive performance by a rear-mounted seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transaxle and limited-slip differential, along with suspension, braking, and steering systems developed and race proven by Mercedes-Benzes performance division.

The imposing style incorporates a long hood with the cockpit in close proximity to the rear axle and a short rear end where a rear wing deploys at high rates of speed for stability and handling. The wing will also function under braking. The brakes are four-wheel discs that perform to a high level of efficiency, courtesy of the massive vented rotors found at all four corners.

This exceptional example was completed by the factory on 24 June 2010 and delivered new to the U.S. on 6 July. It has since seen limited use and shows less than 4,400 original miles. Finished in iconic Iridium Silver Metallic over Exclusive Red leather interior and with limited ownership since new, this SLS AMG continues to present in excellent condition throughout. Included are the original set of owner’s manuals in their leather folio.

This is a true luxury supercar in every sense of the word.
