The 365 GTC/4 on offer here was completed by Ferrari in October of 1971 and originally finished in the very rare shade of Azzurro Gladiateur paintwork over a Nero interior. Although it was specified for the European market and sold new in Milan, the car remained in its native Italy for a very short period of time. Exported to California in 1972, chassis number 14461 would spend time in the hands of a California-based enthusiast before being acquired by a resident of Illinois. It would then be purchased by Continental Classic Motors of Hinsdale, Illinois. They conducted a bare-metal respray, opting for a red exterior color.

Chassis number 14461 eventually made its way back to California, where it was bought by Virgil Elings, a world-class motorcycle collector who owned the Solvang Vintage Motorcycle Museum. Purchased by its most recent previous owner from Elings in 2006, the car had been advertised at that time as having received a substantial mechanical service, including replacement of the timing chains, water pump, a new clutch and flywheel, and a rebuild of the ignition, braking system, and carburetors. The 365 GTC/4 was regularly maintained in his custodianship. In 2019, the car was entrusted to Competizione & Sports Cars of Gaithersburg, Maryland to perform an annual service; the air conditioning and brakes were serviced at the same time.

In mid-2019, chassis number 14461 was acquired by Mr. Guikas and shipped to France, where it has remained in well-maintained condition ever since. Under his care, the car has been returned to its original color configuration of Azzurro Gladiateur over a black interior and has been inspected by Ferrari Classiche in preparation for certification. Offering similar performance to the fabled 365 GTB/4 Daytona but with added practicality, 365 GTC/4s are much rarer than their thoroughbred siblings and make for highly usable grand tourers. Boasting a known history from new, presented in its factory-correct colors, and accompanied by its user’s manual, a spare parts catalogue, and a report from Ferrari historian Marcel Massini, this example will not disappoint.

La 365 GTC/4 a été ensuite régulièrement entretenue. En 2019, elle a été confiée à Competizione & Sports Cars, de Gaithersburg (Maryland) pour une révision annuelle et, à cette occasion, le système de climatisation et les freins ont été également revus.

A la mi-2019, ce châssis 14461 a été acheté par M. Guikas et importé en France, où il a bénéficié d'un entretien régulier. De plus, la voiture a retrouvé sa configuration de couleurs d'origine, "Azzurro Gladiateur" avec intérieur noir, et a été inspectée par Ferrari Classiche dans le but d'une certification. Offrant des performances équivalentes à la célèbre 365 GTB/4 Daytona mais avec un aménagement plus pratique, la 365 GTC/4 est beaucoup plus rare que ses sœurs et constitue une grande routière très facile à utiliser. Forte d'un historique connu depuis l'origine, présentée dans ses teintes usine d'origine et accompagnée de son manuel d'utilisation, d'un catalogue de pièces de rechange et d'un rapport de l'historien Ferrari Marcel Massini, cette voiture ne décevra pas son nouveau propriétaire.
