The impact of the Acura NSX—the envelope-pushing halo car revealed in 1990 after years of testing and refinement—is difficult to overstate. Previously, a certain amount of inconvenience was an expected part of supercar ownership; the NSX required no such compromises, meeting or exceeding the performance of more costly Italian and German machinery while being eminently useable and comparatively low-maintenance. It was, after all, a Honda at its core, marketed as the “Honda NSX” in most global markets.

Boasting a development process involving motorsports legends Ayrton Senna and Bobby Rahal, the NSX featured a rigid, lightweight aluminum semi-monocoque chassis (no variant’s curb weight exceeded 3,200 pounds). The free-revving V-6, fitted with titanium connecting rods and Honda’s proprietary VTEC variable valve timing system, was this chassis’ perfect match, providing performance equally suited to road and track. In 1995, the Acura NSX-T was released, which featured a removable targa-top roof panel; the NSX-T soon became the standard body style offered in North America.

This 2005 Acura NSX-T benefits from all improvements developed over the NSX’s production run. Chief among these is the larger 3.2-liter V-6, producing 290 horsepower with an 8,000-rpm redline. Though an automatic gearbox was offered, this car is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission for ultimate driving engagement. It is finished in its attractive, factory-original, combination of Long Beach Blue Pearl over an Onyx leather interior.

Notably, this NSX-T’s VIN indicates that it is the first of just 249 produced for the North American market in the model’s final production year. Always stored in a climate-controlled garage by its sole owner from new, it has been driven only 5,113 miles at the time of cataloguing; commensurate with this limited use, the car’s factory-original finishes present wonderfully both inside and out.

Service and inspection invoices on file indicate a history of maintenance by Lehigh Valley Acura of Emmaus, Pennsylvania. In October 2022, the car benefitted from a comprehensive service carried out by Piazza Acura of Reading, Pennsylvania, a facility selected for its full-time NSX-certified technician on staff. An invoice on file, totaling over $4,500, details the replacement of the timing belt and water pump—precautionary measures recommended by Acura due to the car’s low milage and limited use—drive belt, cam and crank seals, as well as fluid and filter changes and fitment of a new battery.

A significant example of an automotive milestone, this highly original, low-mileage 2005 Acura NSX-T is a collector’s item worthy of preservation—and an exceptional driver’s car that begs for exercise on your favorite back road. It is accompanied by service invoices, its original window sticker, owner’s manual, and extra keys.
