Mike Mortorano joined RM Sotheby's in 2020 after holding positions in the Atlanta and Washington, D.C. area offices of two leading international law firms. With extensive experience in both transactions and disputes, Mike works with virtually all facets of the business, from sales to operations, and drives the company’s legal strategy with a business-focused approach. In his private practice, Mike has represented public and private companies in state and federal trial and appellate courts, domestic and international arbitrations, and sensitive investigations and administrative matters. He has also counseled companies through billions of dollars in transactions and acquisitions.
Mike is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia and Virginia State Bar, and he has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America© “Ones to Watch.” Before admission to the bar, Mike served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Rossie D. Alston, Jr., then of the Court of Appeals of Virginia, and as a law clerk at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Office of the Principal Legal Advisor. Mike earned his B.S. in Business Administration cum laude from Georgetown University, and his J.D. magna cum laude from George Mason University School of Law, where he served as executive editor of the George Mason Law Review.
